Providing
timely and quality access to our veterans
is important to us. Our goal is to
prevent long delays in providing care
throughout the Medical Center. Improving
access to care is OUR goal at OBVAMC.
At
OBVAMC, we are making changes that will
make access to your provider easier.
We are starting a new scheduling system
that is called “Open Access Scheduling”.
This means that some clinics will not
give you a return appointment when
you check out. Don’t worry; you
will be sent a letter that will remind
you 2-4 weeks before your provider
wants to see you for your follow-up
visit. Please call us when you receive
the letter and schedule your appointment
when it fits your schedule.
It is up
to you to make sure that we have your
correct address and phone number, so
that we can send your reminder letter
to you.
On the day of your appointment,
please report at least 30 minutes early
to check in.
If you cannot keep your
appointment, please call us as soon
as possible to cancel. We will reschedule
you and place another veteran into
that slot.

At your
visit, you will be given a card with
our phone numbers on it. We will also
give you a number to call if you have
medical issues before your next scheduled
visit.
