OIF/OEF Returning Service Members Focus Groups

Focus Group meeting imageAs the number of OIF/OEF returning service members and veterans seeking healthcare increases, VHA facilities are challenged with ensuring you receive necessary health and mental health services.  Many of you veterans suffer from multiple complex health and mental health problems, including traumatic brain injury (TBI), amputations, burns, combat stress, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  Therefore, it is critical for each VHA facility to have a process in place to ensure that OIF/OEF veterans are able to identify their issues, concerns, and opinions regarding the care they receive.
As a result we here at Overton Brooks VAMC have quarterly focus groups to accomplish these goals.  These groups are for all OIF/OEF veterans and their families.  Our group consists of a panel of experts at your disposal.  Our group includes OIF/OEF staff for our facility, VBA counselor, members from the Vet Center, and our medical staff.
We are here for you to have open and honest conversations concerning your needs and how we can meet them.

The next focus group will be held:

  • October 23rd, 5:30 – 7:30 PM
  • Contact the OEF/OIF Team at 318-221-8411 ext. 7229, 7228, or 7057 to register if you plan to attend.

OEF/OIF Homecoming is scheduled for November 6th, 2008, 3:00 – 7:00 PM
