Medical Center Director

Mr. Richard Crockett was appointed as the Medical Center Director of Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in October 2017. He served as the Interim Medical Center Director for approximately eight months prior to his appointment. He previously served at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System where he served as the Deputy Medical Center Director. Mr. Crockett began his VA career 25 years ago as a nurse in medical/surgical and ICU in Salt Lake City, Utah, a large 1A facility. While there, he served as a clinical informaticist and programmer, and later as Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff. Mr. Crockett then transferred to VISN 15 in Kansas City, Missouri, as the Network Program Director for Purchased Care and Utilization Management, and then as Executive Assistant to the Network Director. He also serve as the Interim Network Business Manager and Interim Deputy Network Director. Mr. Crockett then accepted the position of Associate Medical Center Director in Muskogee, Oklahoma. While there, he served as Interim Medical Center Director. Mr. Crockett brings a wide breadth of experience, a broad understanding of clinical and operational issues in health care, and a continued passion for the VA's mission of caring for our Veterans.


Dr. Sevetri Moore-Guillaume, Chief of Staff

Chief of Staff

Dr. Moore-Guillaume was appointed as the Shreveport VA chief medical officer, April 15, 2019. Dr. Sevetri Moore-Guillaume, a native of Stonewall, Louisiana, was educated in Desoto Parish and then attended Louisiana State University Shreveport and Louisiana State University Medical Center as part of the accelerated 6-year program. She then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Tulane Medical Center and affiliated hospitals in New Orleans. After residency, Dr. Moore-Guillaume served as Co-Chief of Medicine at a Tulane affiliated hospital. From there she moved to North Louisiana and served as the Director of the Emergency Department at Huey P Long Hospital in Pineville, LA. Dr. Moore-Guillaume returned to New Orleans and worked in the private sector until 2005, when she returned to Shreveport after Hurricane Katrina. She was employed at Christus Schumpert as a hospitalist for five years and transferred to Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in 2010, where she has served as the Section Chief of General Internal Medicine and Assistant Chief of Medical Service. Dr. Moore- Guillaume is board certified in Internal Medicine and completed her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 2015 at Centenary College. Dr. Moore-Guillaume completed the premier VA Health Care Leadership Development Program in 2016. Dr. Moore-Guillaume was also Physician of the Year in 2016. She is also a certified and an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and in 2018 she became a fellow. She is married with two daughters and very involved in her local church as a praise team member and altar server.

Interim Associate Medical Center Director

Ms. Kimberly Lane has been an employee of Overton Brooks VAMC for over 18 years. She has held the position of Chief of Finance since 2007. Other positions held at Overton Brooks include the Assistant Fiscal Officer, Chief, Accounting Section and Staff Accountant. She has dedicated her career to serving the Veterans and employees in Shreveport. She received her BS in Accounting in 1996 from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. Ms. Lane is a 2015 graduate of Leadership VA, a year-long leadership development program that cultivates high-performing leaders. Her group project was the first selected for presentation to the Secretary of VA and represented improving the culture within VA. Ms. Lane served as the chair and member of the national Financial Management Advisory Council, representing VISN 16 and 17. Ms. Lane holds Fellowship status as a Mentor from VHA. She has mentored 11 VA employees and was recently selected as a preceptor for two technical career field employees. Ms. Lane was awarded the “Excellence in Local Budget” by the VHA CFO in 2004. Ms. Lane lives in Shreveport with her husband and two daughters. She is an active participant in the community and has spent many years as an advocate for her youngest daughter, who has special needs. Ms. Lane has also donated her time as a Sunday School teacher, softball coach, and a Girl Scout leader. Today she is a certified coach for the Special Olympics, participating in swimming, powerlifting, and bowling.

Mr. Zachary Sage, MHA was appointed Associate Director of Overton Brooks VA Medical Center (OBVAMC) in Shreveport, Louisiana, effective October 2, 2016. Mr. Sage previously served as the Associate Director of the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System. Mr. Sage joined the VA in 2007 through the Student Career Exploration Program as a Medical Support Assistant at the Lexington VA Medical Center in Kentucky. He continued his career as an Administrative Fellow at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Upon completion of his Fellowship, Mr. Sage continued serving at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center as a Supply Systems Analyst for the Logistics Management Service, and then as Administrative Officer of the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care Line. Mr. Sage also served as the Health Systems Specialist to the Associate Director at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Sage earned his Master of Health Administration from the University of Kentucky in 2009. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Science Education from the University of Kentucky in 2007. Mr. Sage is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

Interim Associate Director Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive

Ms. Tammy Welcome serves as the Interim Associate Director of Patient Care Services. Ms. Welcome has nearly 30 years of federal service. On a temporary appointment, she joins the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center from the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Ms. Welcome has served in roles such as Nurse Executive-Extended Care Line, Intermediate Care Staff Nurse, Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Staff Nurse, Spinal Cord Injury Nurse Case Manager/SCI Clinic Nurse, Community Nursing Home Nurse Coordinator, and Veteran Integrated Service Network (VISN) 16 Telecare Nurse Manager. Ms. Welcome received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M College of Nursing, a Master of Science for Health Education from Texas Southern University. Ms. Welcome is a member of the American Nurse Association, Fort Bend County Black Nurses Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, Nurse Organization for Veteran Administration, Prairie View A&M University Alumni Association-Lifetime Member.

Mr. Darrell Jordan was temporarily appointed to Acting Assistant Medical Center Director, Oct. 19, 2019. Mr. Jordan has served Veterans at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center as the Chief of Social Work Services and Senior Executive Social Worker since September 2017. Before joining the Shreveport VA hospital, he served as the Homeless Coordinator at the West Texas VA Medical Center in Big Springs, Texas, from June 2010 to June 2013. He also served as the Chief of Social Work Services at Big Springs VA from June 2013 to September 2017. During his career, Mr. Jordan has served Veterans at five VA Medical Centers that also include Little Rock, Arkansas, and St. Louis, Missouri, and the San Francisco VA Healthcare System. Mr. Jordan began his VA career in 1977 following his service in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Jordan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from Harding University, Searcy, Arkansas, in 1981. He received his Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1982.
